This is really a good one. I mostly see Octatrack used by techno or house producers and I’ve never ever imagined that it can be used in some ambient music. If it is not a secret, can you tell more about that how the Octatrack was used? Just filters or something more? And do you use it nowadays quite often?
thanks greg. yeah the octatrack is a pretty powerful looping device. i pretty much never use any of the sequencing stuff… if you ignore that part it’s a pretty perfect drone machine. just for looping, signal routing, and effects. each track has three LFO’s that can control any parameter on that track.
i still have a big long list of things i’d like to see fixed next time they update the firmware but for the most part i am pretty happy with it.
